Production or "Stock Car" racing is a very popular sport in the Allied Commonwealths, and the planet as a whole. The main sanctioning body on Caleia is the Professional Stock Car Association. Currently, the season has begun:

News Updates from the PSCA Pro Series

Duda's Departure
Duda Tobacco Company announces it will end sponsorship of the PSCA Pro Series after 2307 due to enclosing government restrictions on Tobacco advertising.

Matt Frances Motorsports Details
Matt Frances has announced that he will drive a number 41 Turgeon sponsored by Square-Box Home Living Supplies, who currently sponsor the 90 car from Ross Racing driven by Thomas Slick, which is dissolving at the end of the season.

Thomas Slick leaves Ross Racing for Fisher Racing
Thomas Slick has been told he will not be racing for Frank Ross after this season with the team consolidating to two teams. Slick will head for Fisher Racing, replacing Jeremy McAuliffe, who will head for Bruce Miller's new team. Gibson Autocare will remain at Fisher Racing as they have for 43 years in some form. Ross' 14 and 51 cars will remain unchanged.

Ryan Burton to drive a third Jackson Car in 2307
Ryan Burton, who was speculated to replace Matt Frances, will instead drive a new third car out of Larry Jackson's stable in 2307 with .50 Cal Energy Shots on board as the sponsor.

Bruce Miller opens shop for a new team
Bruce Miller has announced that he will be starting a new team for the 2307 season, after announcing his retirement a few months ago. Miller has announced Jeremy McAuliffe as the driver, Gibson as the manufacturer and 55 as the number but sponsorship and race schedule is still pending.

Paul Shepard promoted Mark Dodson
Paul Shepard Racing, currently fielding Tyler Lucas and Craig Merlin, will promote Mark Dodson to run for rookie of the year in 2307 in a third car with Common Parcel as the sponsor numbered 8. Well there are speeedway's across the ACG so that'd be hard to say but i'd assume about 3,000 AC Dollars.

Also, since roleplay years are a month to a year, I "simmed" the rest of the season and Holzmen is the champion.

After five wins of 8 career, Jamerson Enterprises took their first championship in thirty years with Steve Holzmen lifting the trophy while Charles Rhodes took rookie of the Year and Bernie Tillis Jr. took home his fifth straight Most Popular Driver award.

After 2 of 26 rounds:
Although a non points race, in his first start as an owner driver, Matt Frances won his Eradus Duel, Eradus is an electronics company based overseas, while Richard Curiel won the other duel. When the official green flag dropped on the 54th annual Lanville 500 a festival fervor was in the air as Frances led them to the green but with Curiel on his tale the whole time. Frances and Curiel separated from the field quickly but when caution came out early on, everyone pitted and Team Komine's Alex Page, winner of the 53rd running, took point and rarely gave it up the rest of the race leading to the media giving Page the nickname Airtime due to his abilities on Lanville and Metaock, the only two superspeedways on the schedule. Page has three career wins, all on superspeedways, in thirteen starts.

The twenty year old went into the 1.5 mile trioval of Clayton Motor Speedway with an air of confidence quickly halted with a crash after only twenty laps. Jeffery Wood had a dominant car all day before mechanical problems left the door open for a shootout among nearly everyone else for the final 60 laps but after it all, Mike Rosenberg took home the Ulysses Harmon's Single Malt Scotch 400. After strong showings in the 500 and NE 400, Jim Richardson has snuck into the top spot but it's still close after only two rounds.

Rookie of the Year wrap-up
Mark Dodson- Running out of the Paul Shepard stable, Dodson proved he could drive with a third in the AAP Series last year but if he can hold on for the longer races and the steeper competition isn't assured yet. Dodson raced with some of the pro drivers in the junior series but has yet to face the full field.

Jamie Armstrong- Armstrong has mastered the craft of desert racing winning the Costa de Verano Cup four times and after some good short track showings, he caught the eye of Dewitt Jamerson and was signed to fill in for Chaz Butler and Butch Miller in their vacated seats. Armstrong has skill and endurance but has little experiance against these drivers.

John Sentar- Little is known about Sentar and few expectations are given for him. He's running for the new team Norcross Racing and though they promise good results, he's a great unknown for the rookie of the year.

I hope it's the new year by now otherwise I feel stupid... (2307)

News from the PSCA Duda Pro Series:

This weekend, after an incident between drivers Bill Skates and Craig Merlin in the PSCA Allied Auto Parts Junior Series race at the 2.66 mile Metaock Superspeedway has lead to the Professional Stock Car Association releasing sanctions against Merlin.

PSCA President of Operations and Competition Bill Williams wrote:
After the incident postrace between Craig and Bill. We as the sanctioning body have decided that the best course of action is to suspend Merlin, from all PSCA competition for the duration of three weeks including today's PSCA Pro Series race. In short, Merlin will not be back on track under PSCA sanctioning until the All-Star race on May 15th.

In the incident, on lap 75 of 76, Skates, who held position, was squeezed by Merlin, into a non-contending car, and causing Merlin and Skates to spin out of turn two in a "racing incident." After the race on Pit lane, skates slowed and stopped to go back and tell Merlin it was an accident and was a good race from him but as Skates approched Merlin's window, Merlin began accelerating away and pushed Skates' unoccupied car into the pit wall, possibly causing injury to crewmen unrelated to the two drivers. Thankfully noone was harmed, however Merlin was immediately called to the Central Operations Center at the speedway where President Williams and other officials talked with Merlin and this morning they decided the appropriate punishment. This is not Merlin's first incident either, he has a substantial record.

Winners
Race Driver-Team
Victoria 500 Chris White- Ross Racing
Huntsriver 500 Mark Dodson*-Paul Shepard Racing
Oakbeach Grand Prix Mike Rosenberg (2)-Sheets Rosenberg Racing
Lincoln 300 Craig Merlin- Paul Shepard Racing

*Mark Dodson's first career win in his 4th career start.
